Volunteers

We love our co-op volunteers.  You are a valuable part of our program and enable us to do many  fun and enriching activities with your children.

As a Co-op member, you will assist the teacher with lesson preparation, run small group activities, do some light housekeeping, set up snacks, and purchase small inexpensive items for the classroom. We recognize that due to work and childcare schedules not every parent is able to volunteer in our classroom, therefore this fall we are offering two volunteer buyout options. All volunteers are required to complete the Baltimore County Parks and Recreation background check and fingerprinting prior to volunteering in the classroom. The Baltimore County Rec and Park background check is free and takes about five minutes to complete online.

Instructions for the background check

The Co-op will be open one day over the summer to allow new families the opportunity to be fingerprinted.  The cost of the fingerprinting is about $65 per set of prints.  If you are a returning family to our co-op and have been fingerprinted with us in the past five years, you do not need to be fingerprinted.  Once your child is enrolled in the program, you will receive an email detailing the date and time of the group fingerprinting session. If you are unable to attend our ‘fingerprinting day’, you may opt to get printed at another location (click here for other locations).
